My name is Melissa Chaudhry, and I'm running to be your Representative in Congress from Washington's Congressional District 9 (CD-9).

My opponent is our incumbent Adam Smith, who's been in Congress for 28 years, and whose campaign is over 90% funded by special interests that profit from war. He’s accountable to the lobbyists of Washington DC, not his constituents here in Washington State.
I am a grassroots candidate with meaningful lived experience that Mr. Smith - a lifetime career politician - can never match. I have lived as an immigrant without status, and worked extensively abroad as well as in frontline community support work here in Washington, and my BIPOC family has dealt with discrimination for decades. I believe wholeheartedly in Liberty and Justice for All, in peace and equality, and in the obligation - that each generation carries - to strive to form a more perfect union.
