Reproductive Healthcare

I support full bodily autonomy for all people, and will fight in Congress to protect and ensure safe and ready access to family planning, IVF, and all reproductive healthcare.

In a perfect world, no one would ever need an abortion. But we do not live in a perfect world. 

We need to reckon with the realities of rape, assault, abuse, sabotage, contraception failure, poverty, unlivable birth defects, fetal death, and any of the many other possible reasons a woman would choose not to - or be medically unable to - carry a child to term. 

Imposing personal preference - religious or otherwise - on other people's lives, about which we know nothing, is terrible arrogance. Maintaining the freedom of choice, full access to healthcare, and respect for bodily autonomy, is fundamental to respecting human rights and human dignity, and there is no alternative for me but to protect.

Making personal decisions is not the government's business. Protecting peoples' right to make them, is.
