Environment
These impacts are already being felt across the country - in floods, fires, droughts, and crop losses - and across the world, especially in tropical regions and in low-elevation islands and coastal zones around the world.
Fortunately, we have all the tools, technologies, and techniques required to slow and even reverse these challenges. Humanity is brilliant at innovation and stewardship, and with the right political will and openness to new ideas, we can:
- Improve air quality, physical health, and lifespan;
- Draw down carbon into soil through regenerative farming;
- Purify water systems through ocean farming of kelp and shellfish;
- Restore lush grasslands and regrow forests damaged by mismanagement and climate change; and
- Provide abundantly for our energy needs without damaging the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Addressing our environmental challenges must be done in a restorative way that improve equity, reduces injustice and inequality, and increases quality of life for everyone. All of our children will inherit this earth - we have a duty to do all in our power to leave it to them better than we found it.
